Bully Sunday
Mommy's computer crashed last weekend, so it's been hard for me to blog. Today is a good start to the week, though. After breakfast I got my favorite chew toy, a bully stick. Mommy just ordered me some fresh ones. I like to try to sneak them upstairs when she's not looking, but she keeps making me bring it back. I know I could find the perfect hide-y place upstairs to bury it!

Bath Time and Breakfast
Mommy always thinks I stink by the time the weekend rolls around. I think she just likes to spoil my fun! She gives me a kisses and says, "Oh, you stink!" or "Oh, you smell like a dog!" as if that's something bad.
Anyway, then she says it's bath time. This happens at least once a week. I don't like it too much. I just don't like being wet.
After my bath, I like to run around and dry off, or jump up on Mommy's bed and roll around. It's nice not to wear my collar for a little bit, too.
Then, after I'm all dry, I get my breakfast. It looks like I get cake and coffee, but really Mommy just usually makes me an egg or chicken. I like to pretend I'm eating the cake, though!

Birthday Boy Goes Back to School
I celebrated my fourth birthday on Sunday! Birthdays are my favorite, because they are the only days when I get a whole cupcake to myself! This is me enjoying my cupcake:
I got a haircut and a bath to start the big day, and then I went to my aunt's, to play with my favorite cousins, Sidney and Gracie! My aunt got me some great new things, like this critter with the dangly legs and googly eyes.
My birthday was the start of a big week, because this was back-to-school-week! I've actually been a graduate of Obedience 1 class since I was 1 1/2 years old. Here's my graduation picture:
Mommy decided to enroll me in the same class all over again. She thought it would be nice for "socialization," as she calls it. I liked going, because I got to meet some new friends. One is even a schnauzer like me. Her name is Mandy, and she's two years old.
Class isn't so hard. I remember all of the commands. The other puppies need some prompting to sit and heel, but I know just what I'm doing, so I try to be a good example for them. Even though I remembered most things, it was still a pretty exhausting hour. When I got home, I had to rest up on the couch before I went to bed. I'm looking forward to next week, though, when I get to see Mandy again! ;)

Sleepy Mondays
Ah yes, sleepy Mondays. I always have a hard time getting out of bed on these days. I had lots of catching up to do from my busy weekend.
On Saturday, I got a nice long walk. The sunny day brought out a lot of my neighbors. Every time we passed another pooch, I wanted to go up and check them out, but Mommy made me keep going. How are these dogs supposed to know that I'm in charge, if I don't get to tell them so? I did get to meet one miniature pinscher on the block, and we enjoyed mutual sniffing. Both of our nubbins were wagging a mile a minute while we said hi.
Sunday was very exciting, because I got to see my Airedale cousins! My terrier family includes Sidney and his mommy, Gracie. Sidney is almost my age. I'm four months older...but not bigger. Actually, the only time I was the bigger boy, was when he was one month old.
After that, he just grew and grew and grew, and now I can easily fit under his legs. I don't think my aunt knew how big Sidney would eventually get. Maybe it's the raw meat she feeds him that made him grow like a weed. Maybe I should ask my mommy for some...
Anyway, Sidney and Gracie came for a visit on Sunday, and we all met at Grammy and Grampy's house. They have lots of toys that are always in the toy box when I go over. It's my job to pull them all out and spread them over the living room floor so we can see what we want to play with.
Sidney will sometimes play tug with me. I think he's sometimes very lazy. He will lay down with the toy in his mouth, while I am on my feet, pulling, and pulling, and pulling. I think he just gets tired more quickly because he's a bigger dog.
His mommy, Gracie, doesn't play too much. She likes to take a toy and keep it in her mouth, and growl at Sidney and me if we try to play with her. That's okay, though--I don't mind if she doesn't like to play.
We played tug and got out all of the toys before my aunt told me it was time for her to take my cousins home. It was a good thing, too, because I was starting to get sleepy, but I couldn't let Sid know he was tiring me out. We little dogs have to keep up.
As soon as I got home, I couldn't wait to go to bed. As soon as Mommy said, "Time for bed!" I grabbed my squeaker and went right to my spot. I knew it was going to be another sleepy Monday!

Summer Job
This is my summer job...guarding the yard from the living room. I'm very vigilant--no one walks into my yard unannounced, and by "no one," I mean no dog, cat, or bunny. If I see anything, I send up the alarm. This tends to annoy my mommy, who tells me to be quiet, but she doesn't realize that I'm actually protecting her. Like, for example, yesterday, when she was chatting to the mailman on the porch. She told me to quit barking the whole time she was talking, but I had to make sure that he knew that I was standing right behind her. No funny business with me around!
This is my job because Mommy said I have to get one to pay for all the furniture I ruin by digging myself a nice nesting spot at bed-time.
Yesterday was a good day. I got a nice nap while my mommy went shopping, and then a present when I woke up! I got a grunter, the best kind of toy to chew!
My job with the grunter and any new toy is to pull out the "grunt" and the stuffing. I like to get as many jobs as I can to help my mommy pay for all my expenses.
